SPR has repaired iPads at 16 walk-in branches across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor since 2009. Every iPad generation is supported — from iPad Pro 13" M4 with tandem OLED, iPad Pro M5, iPad Air M2/M3 with Magic Keyboard compatibility, iPad Mini 7/6 (Apple Pencil 2 hover supported on Mini 6), iPad 10th gen with landscape front camera, down to legacy iPad 5/6/7 standard. Screen replacement is typically same-day on the standard tier and 1–3 hours on laminated Pro/Air panels (the adhesive needs cure time before reassembly). Battery work runs 2–4 hours due to the larger laminated chassis and the slow-set adhesive between battery cell and chassis. USB-C charging port replacement on iPad Pro is a flex swap; Lightning port on older iPads is the same flex job but parts supply has tightened as Apple has moved on. Board-level work — no-boot after a failed iPadOS update, NAND chip-level memory upgrade, M-chip post-liquid recovery — routes to our Kepong HQ for ESD-safe bench work with hot-air rework stations, BGA pre-heaters, and microscope-assisted soldering. iPad Pro M4 introduced tandem OLED to iPad — two stacked OLED layers driven independently for HDR brightness. The display assembly is a different part SKU from the prior LCD Pro generations, with a different connector layout. We carry parts and procedures for all of them: original iPad through Air 1–6, Mini 1–7, Pro 9.7/10.5/11/12.9 LCD eras, Pro 11 M4 / 13 M4 tandem OLED, and the new M5 Pro. Laminated screen handling — adhesive cure discipline

Every iPad from Air 2 forward is a laminated display: the glass, touch digitiser, and LCD/OLED are bonded into a single assembly. Quality work requires correct adhesive choice, controlled curing time, and bezel re-bonding with the right pressure profile. SPR runs adhesive-cure jigs at every branch — a screen done quickly with the wrong adhesive will lift at the corners within a month; done properly, the bond is flush and lasts the life of the device.

M-chip iPad Pro — ESD-safe board work at Kepong HQ

Apple Silicon iPad Pro logic boards are static-sensitive — handling without ESD-safe equipment risks killing the SoC during routine board removal. SPR's Kepong HQ runs ESD-grounded benches with humidity-controlled airflow, hot-air rework stations, BGA pre-heaters, microscope-assisted soldering, and donor-board stock. Board-level diagnoses that other shops decline as a write-off get an honest assessment with us — recoverable or not, board value vs. market value, data-only recovery if that's the right answer.

Apple Pencil compatibility preserved

iPad screen replacement on Pencil-2-compatible models (Pro 11 / Pro 12.9 / Air 4 onwards / Mini 6+) requires the new display to preserve Pencil 2 hover and magnetic-pairing function. We test Pencil pairing and hover detection at the end of every screen job before the iPad is closed. USB-C Pencil and Pencil Pro compatibility on M4 Pro is tested the same way. If the test fails, we don't ship the iPad until the issue is resolved.

└─ iPad screen work typically takes 1–3 hours depending on model — longer than iPhone because of lamination and adhesive cure time. Standard iPad digitiser-only jobs can be same-day; iPad Pro laminated screens may need overnight curing.
Q.02Which iPad models do you repair?[+]
└─ Every iPad: iPad Pro (all generations, 11 and 12.9 inch), iPad Air (1–5), iPad Mini (1–6), and standard iPad (1–10). M1/M2/M4 Pro models included.
Q.03Do you service Apple Pencil?[+]
└─ Pencil tips and general Pencil health checks — yes. Pencil 2 hover detection requires specific iPad generation compatibility after screen replacement; we test this before closing the iPad.
Q.04What warranty do I get on iPad repairs?[+]
└─ 6-month warranty on parts and labour, honoured at all 16 branches. Water-damage repairs have a shorter warranty due to the nature of corrosion.
Q.05Are keyboard/cellular iPad variants any different?[+]
└─ Cellular iPads have a small additional antenna flex that needs re-transferring during screen/housing work. We quote the same price and include it in the job.
Q.06How do I know if I have Apple Pencil 1, Pencil 2, USB-C Pencil, or Pencil Pro?[+]
└─ Pencil 1 has a removable cap exposing a Lightning plug — charges by sticking into the iPad's Lightning port. Pencil 2 has a flat side that snaps magnetically to iPad Pro 11/12.9 (2018+), Air 4+, Mini 6/7 — charges wirelessly via the magnetic side. USB-C Pencil is the cheaper 2023 model that charges via a small USB-C port near the cap. Pencil Pro is exclusive to M4 iPad Pro (2024) with squeeze, barrel-roll and haptic feedback. We test the specific Pencil generation matching your iPad after every screen replacement.
Q.07Will my Magic Keyboard or Smart Folio still work after iPad repair?[+]
└─ Magic Keyboard and Smart Folio attach via the Smart Connector on the back/edge of iPad Pro, iPad Air (M2+) and iPad 10th gen. As long as we don't replace the Smart Connector flex itself, your keyboard and folio will continue to pair as before. If a back-housing or frame straighten job is needed, we re-transfer the Smart Connector and test the keyboard before the iPad leaves the bench. Compatibility checked across every Magic Keyboard generation including the M4 Pro variant with aluminium palm rest.
Q.08Can you do glass-only repair on a cracked iPad Pro screen?[+]
└─ On iPad Pro 11 / 12.9 / 13 (and iPad Air 4+, Mini 6+), the display is fully laminated — glass, touch digitiser, and LCD/OLED are bonded as one unit. Glass-only repair is not available because the layers cannot be separated cleanly without damaging the digitiser or panel. Full assembly replacement is the only path. The older standard iPad 5/6/7/8/9/10 has a non-laminated build where a glass-and-digitiser-only tier IS available (cheaper, faster). WhatsApp the model and a photo of the crack and we'll quote the right tier on chat.
