Board-level micro-soldering at our Kepong HQ, typically 48–72 hours, and it's intricate precision work — more so on iPad than iPhone because the laminated display must come off first. We remove the existing NAND flash chip from the logic board, fit a higher-capacity one, and re-program it with the iPad's original identity data so iCloud, activation and the serial all keep working — done correctly, the iPad treats the new larger storage as its own. The same process can repair a failed NAND causing a boot loop. Two honest points: first, this replaces the storage chip, so a full backup before the job is essential — the old data doesn't transfer and is restored afterward.
