The iPad battery sits beneath the display and is held down with strong adhesive across a large, thin panel, so the job is mostly about getting the old display and cell out without cracking the screen or bending the frame. We lift the display with controlled low-temp heat and even pressure, disconnect and carefully remove the old cell with proper adhesive-removal technique (no prying that could puncture it), fit an original-capacity replacement, and re-seal the display with fresh adhesive. On iPad Air, Pro and Mini 6+ the display is laminated and more fragile, which adds time. Swollen cells are handled the same way but always brought in powered off — a punctured swollen lithium cell can ignite. We test charging and runtime before returning it, and if your charging issue turns out to be the port rather than the cell, we tell you straight and quote the smaller job instead.
