iPhone Back Glass Replacement.

Cracked rear glass after a drop, but the phone otherwise still works? SPR uses laser debonding to soften the adhesive between the back glass and chassis frame — no prying, so the wireless charging coil and MagSafe magnet ring underneath stay intact. 1 to 2 hours at branches with a laser station.

When to replace

Five signs your back glass needs replacing.

A cracked back doesn't always mean anything else is wrong — but these signs tell us what to check before we quote.

Camera lens cracked tooBack camera lens cracked along with the rear glass — these are separate parts on most models, and both are replaceable independently.

A cracked or shattered iPhone back glass usually leaves the rest of the phone working fine, but the repair method matters — prying the glass off risks damaging the wireless charging coil, the MagSafe magnet ring, and the rear camera flex sitting right beneath it. SPR uses laser debonding instead: the laser softens the adhesive bond between the back glass and the chassis frame so the broken glass lifts off cleanly, without heat or force reaching the coil and ring underneath. Once the chassis bonding surface is cleaned, the new glass goes on with original-spec adhesive and is pressure-cured. This laser station is at Kepong HQ, Mid Valley, Uptown Damansara, Puchong Kenari, and Sri Petaling; smaller branches route the job to one of these on request.

Back Glass Replacement · what it looks like
  • Cracked or shattered rear glass after a drop — phone otherwise works fine.
  • Hairline cracks in the rear that haven't separated yet but are spreading.
  • Wireless charging stopped working after a back-glass break — coil may be exposed or contaminated.
  • MagSafe magnets feel weaker after the break — alignment can shift when glass cracks.
  • Back camera lens cracked along with the rear glass (separate parts, both replaceable).
What we check first
  • Check whether wireless charging still works (place on a Qi or MagSafe charger) — confirms whether the coil is intact.
  • Inspect the camera lens and bump separately — these are different parts from the back glass.
  • Verify the chassis frame isn't bent — a bent frame may need straightening before new glass sits flush.
  • Identify the variant precisely (Pro vs Pro Max vs standard) — back-glass parts and disassembly differ.
Repair path

Counter-level: 1–2 hours typical at any branch with proper laser equipment (Kepong HQ, Mid Valley, Uptown Damansara, Puchong Kenari, and Sri Petaling have the laser station; smaller branches send to Kepong on demand). Process: laser the adhesive bond between back glass and chassis frame to soften it (no prying, no heat damage to the wireless coil or MagSafe ring beneath), lift the broken glass cleanly, clean the chassis bonding surface, install the new glass with original-spec adhesive, and pressure-cure. Wireless charging coil and MagSafe magnet ring are preserved on every successful repair. Workshop-level: the rare case where the chassis frame is bent or the wireless coil itself is damaged moves to Kepong HQ for frame straightening or coil replacement. Not recoverable: extreme drop damage that has cracked the inner aluminium chassis (rare) means the phone needs full housing replacement, which is usually more expensive than a refurb of the same model — we give you that comparison free.

Questions

Before you walk in.

Q.01Will MagSafe and wireless charging still work after back-glass replacement?

Yes — laser debonding preserves the MagSafe magnet ring and the wireless charging coil. They sit between the new glass and the chassis frame, so as long as the original coil and ring weren't damaged in the drop itself, they remain fully functional after the repair.

Q.02Is laser back-glass repair safer than prying?

Yes, significantly. Prying back glass risks damaging the wireless coil, the MagSafe ring, the rear camera flex, and the chassis frame's bonding surface. Laser softens the adhesive cleanly without those collateral risks. SPR uses laser stations at our larger branches; smaller branches send back-glass jobs to those locations.

Q.03Is the rear camera lens part of back glass replacement?

On most iPhones, no — the rear camera lens is a separate cover. If both are cracked, we replace each as a separate part with separate quotes. WhatsApp us photos of both and we'll combine the quote.

Q.04Where can I get iphone back glass (backglass) replacement near me in KL or Selangor?

SPR has 16 walk-in branches across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor — Kepong, Uptown Damansara, Puchong Kenari, Sri Petaling, Taman Segar, Setapak, Mahkota Cheras, Pandan Indah, Ampang, Mid Valley, IOI City Mall, Sungai Wang, Maluri, Equine Park, Taipan USJ, and Kuchai Lama. Walk into any branch — no appointment needed — or WhatsApp us a photo of your iPhone first to confirm parts at the branch nearest you.

Q.05How long does iphone back glass (backglass) replacement take?

Typically 1–2 hr at any of our 16 branches. Walk in without an appointment, or WhatsApp us your model to confirm stock first.

Q.06Which iPhone models are covered?

All iPhone models: iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd gen), iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 series including all Pro, Pro Max, Plus, and Mini variants. Older iPhones (X, XR, XS, 8, 7, 6s) supported on a parts-availability basis at most branches.

Q.07What does iphone back glass (backglass) replacement cost in Malaysia?

Cost depends on the iPhone model and the parts tier you choose. We don't post fixed prices because every case is different. WhatsApp us a photo of the damage and the model and we send a free quote within minutes. No charge for diagnosis if you walk in.

Q.08Is SPR an Apple Authorised Service Provider?

No — SPR is independent. We're not Apple, not an Apple Authorised Service Provider, and we don't claim to be. We've been repairing Apple devices for 17 years across 16 branches in KL and Selangor. If you specifically want Apple-genuine parts and an Apple-issued service record, your only option is Apple's own out-of-warranty service. If you want fast same-day independent repair with a 6-month warranty at independent shop pricing, that's us.

Q.09What warranty do I get?

Every back glass replacement at SPR comes with a 6-month warranty on parts and labour, honoured at all 16 branches across KL and Selangor — bring it to any SPR location for warranty work, not just the branch where the repair was done. Water-damage repairs carry a shorter warranty due to the unpredictable progression of corrosion.

Q.10What kind of replacement parts do you use?

OEM-grade parts as standard — manufactured to the same specifications as the originals. Premium-grade options are available on request for most models. We show you both tiers upfront so you can choose what fits. Apple does not sell parts to repair shops, so no independent shop in Malaysia can offer Apple-genuine parts; anyone claiming so is misleading.

Q.11Do you offer a free diagnosis?

Yes. Free diagnosis on walk-in at every branch. If we cannot repair your device, you pay nothing — no diagnostic fee, no consultation charge. Many fixes (lint cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning, software-only) cost nothing if that's all that's needed.
