The M2 Air introduced the 13-inch size for the first time in this line — and it's been the biggest iPad Air walk-in at SPR branches ever since, simply because more 13-inch units in the field means more drop damage. Both M2 and M3 Air use laminated LCD (not OLED), which makes screen replacement more straightforward than the M4 Pro but still requires care with the front-glass adhesive seal. The 11-inch LCD assembly and 13-inch assembly are different parts — don't assume parts from one size fit the other. The M2 Air (now 14 months old) is just entering early battery wear territory for the heaviest users. The M3 Air (2025) is too fresh for battery or major component failure — drop damage dominates intake. USB-C on both gens handles lint ingress well; the port issue we see is bent pins from sideways cable insertion.
