We only reach the board after ruling out the battery, the charging port and (via an external monitor) the display, so you're not paying for board work when a cheaper repair would do. Under a microscope we measure current draw to localise the fault — a shorted capacitor, a failed power-management or charging IC, a damaged power rail, or corrosion from a spill — and micro-solder the repair. On Apple-silicon MacBooks we can reball or replace the relevant components where viable. Liquid and impact boards get an ultrasonic clean and corrosion removal first. Honest up front: board-level repair is the most complex thing we do and the one we can't promise sight-unseen — some faults are economical to fix, some aren't, and on soldered-storage models data recovery means getting the board stable enough to boot once.
