iPhone Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues split into three causes: antenna flex damage (common after screen/battery work done elsewhere), Wi-Fi chip (Murata) solder failure needing reball, or iOS-side setting issue that we rule out free. Board-level cases are referred to Kepong HQ for chip-level micro-soldering with 4–24 hour turnaround.

Wi-Fi / Bluetooth · what it looks like
  • The Wi-Fi toggle in Settings is greyed out and won't turn on — a classic Wi-Fi chip (IC) fault, especially on older iPhones.
  • Wi-Fi connects but the signal is very weak, only works right next to the router, or drops constantly — often a damaged antenna flex.
  • Bluetooth won't pair, won't find devices, or keeps disconnecting from your car, watch or AirPods.
  • It started right after a drop or a screen / battery repair elsewhere — the Wi-Fi / Bluetooth antenna flex is easy to pinch or tear during a careless repair.
  • Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth fail together — they often share circuitry, pointing to the board.
What we check first
  • Reset network settings (Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Reset > Reset Network Settings) — rules out a software cause before any hardware work.
  • Toggle Airplane mode on and off, and restart — clears temporary radio glitches.
  • Note whether the Wi-Fi switch is greyed out (points to the chip) versus connecting-but-weak (points to the antenna).
  • Recall any recent drop or repair — antenna flex damage usually traces to one of those.
Repair path

4–24 hours depending on the cause, and we isolate it before quoting because the fixes differ a lot. First we rule out software with a network-settings reset. If Wi-Fi connects but is weak or drops, the usual cause is a damaged Wi-Fi / Bluetooth antenna flex — a counter-to-workshop repair to replace the flex, common after a drop or a careless previous repair that pinched it. The harder case is a greyed-out Wi-Fi toggle that won't turn on at all: that's typically a failed Wi-Fi IC on the logic board, and it needs board-level micro-soldering or a reball of that chip at our Kepong HQ. Bluetooth often shares the same circuitry, so when both fail together it points to the board. We tell you straight which it is after diagnosis — an antenna flex is affordable, a Wi-Fi IC reball is more involved — and the diagnosis is free so you know before you commit.

Questions

Before you walk in.

Q.01My iPhone Wi-Fi toggle is greyed out and won't turn on — what causes that?

A greyed-out Wi-Fi switch that won't turn on is the classic sign of a failed Wi-Fi chip (IC) on the logic board, common on older iPhones and after some impacts. It's not a software setting you can fix in the menus — it needs board-level repair (micro-soldering or a reball of that chip). We confirm it with a free diagnosis first, since occasionally a network-settings reset clears a software version of the problem.

Q.02My Wi-Fi got weak / keeps dropping after I had my screen replaced elsewhere — connected?

Very likely. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antenna flex runs near the screen and battery, and it's easy to pinch, tear or leave unseated during a careless repair. That shows up as weak signal or constant dropping right after. We re-check and replace the antenna flex and reseat the connections — bring it in and we'll confirm that's the cause.

Q.03Both my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth stopped working — is that one problem or two?

Usually one. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth often share circuitry on the iPhone, so when both fail together it points to a single cause — commonly the antenna flex or the chip on the board — rather than two separate faults. We diagnose it as one issue, which usually means one repair, and tell you whether it's the flex (affordable) or the board (more involved).

Q.04Where can I get iphone wi-fi & bluetooth repair near me in KL or Selangor?

SPR has 16 walk-in branches across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor — Kepong, Uptown Damansara, Puchong Kenari, Sri Petaling, Taman Segar, Setapak, Mahkota Cheras, Pandan Indah, Ampang, Mid Valley, IOI City Mall, Sungai Wang, Maluri, Equine Park, Taipan USJ, and Kuchai Lama. Walk into any branch — no appointment needed — or WhatsApp us a photo of your iPhone first to confirm parts at the branch nearest you.

Q.05How long does iphone wi-fi & bluetooth repair take?

Typically 4–24 hr at any of our 16 branches. Walk in without an appointment, or WhatsApp us your model to confirm stock first.

Q.06Which iPhone models are covered?

All iPhone models: iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd gen), iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 series including all Pro, Pro Max, Plus, and Mini variants. Older iPhones (X, XR, XS, 8, 7, 6s) supported on a parts-availability basis at most branches.

Q.07What does iphone wi-fi & bluetooth repair cost in Malaysia?

Cost depends on the iPhone model and the parts tier you choose. We don't post fixed prices because every case is different. WhatsApp us a photo of the damage and the model and we send a free quote within minutes. No charge for diagnosis if you walk in.

Q.08Is SPR an Apple Authorised Service Provider?

No — SPR is independent. We're not Apple, not an Apple Authorised Service Provider, and we don't claim to be. We've been repairing Apple devices for 17 years across 16 branches in KL and Selangor. If you specifically want Apple-genuine parts and an Apple-issued service record, your only option is Apple's own out-of-warranty service. If you want fast same-day independent repair with a 6-month warranty at independent shop pricing, that's us.

Q.09What warranty do I get?

Every wi-fi / bluetooth at SPR comes with a 6-month warranty on parts and labour, honoured at all 16 branches across KL and Selangor — bring it to any SPR location for warranty work, not just the branch where the repair was done. Water-damage repairs carry a shorter warranty due to the unpredictable progression of corrosion.

Q.10What kind of replacement parts do you use?

OEM-grade parts as standard — manufactured to the same specifications as the originals. Premium-grade options are available on request for most models. We show you both tiers upfront so you can choose what fits. Apple does not sell parts to repair shops, so no independent shop in Malaysia can offer Apple-genuine parts; anyone claiming so is misleading.

Q.11Do you offer a free diagnosis?

Yes. Free diagnosis on walk-in at every branch. If we cannot repair your device, you pay nothing — no diagnostic fee, no consultation charge. Many fixes (lint cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning, software-only) cost nothing if that's all that's needed.
