Base iPad (7th–10th gen) screens are non-laminated — the front glass / digitiser is a separate layer, so a clean crack over a working display is often a glass-only replacement at lower cost. iPad Air, iPad Pro and iPad Mini 6 and newer use a fully laminated display where the glass, digitiser and LCD/OLED are fused into one assembly — any crack means replacing the whole unit, and the work is more delicate because the panel is bonded to a thin aluminium frame that bends easily. We use controlled low-temp heating and even pressure to lift the old assembly without cracking the new one or denting the frame, then re-seal with fresh adhesive. iPad Pro models route Face ID, the front camera and the Apple Pencil charge flex around the display, so we test all of them after the swap. Turnaround is typically same-day for base-iPad glass and up to 24 hours for laminated assemblies, where the adhesive needs to cure before the iPad goes back to daily flexing.
