New ear-tip and stem design vs Pro 2, USB-C case only (Apple did not ship a Lightning Pro 3), H3 chip with twice the ANC performance of Pro 2, plus new in-ear heart-rate sensing on the pod itself. At 8 months old, stem-cell degradation is essentially nil; the dominant SPR walk-in is mechanical — pod-stem cracks from drops, ear-tip mesh blockage from earwax (free clean), and a higher-than-Pro 2 rate of pocket-sit damage to the USB-C case because Pro 3's case is slightly slimmer. The Pro 3 case cell is more compact than Pro 2 case cell; case repair is harder and takes longer than on Pro 2. All Pro 3 pod-stem cell or board-side repairs route through Kepong HQ at this age — aftermarket parts for Pro 3 have 2–4 week lead times in Malaysia. ANC complaints on Pro 3: 8 months in market the most common cause is blocked microphone mesh from earwax (free ultrasonic clean resolves most). The new heart-rate sensor in the pod is not serviced in the aftermarket channel — if the sensor itself has failed, that's Apple-only.
